The R’lyehwatch Third Party License is a perpetual, irrevocable, and royalty-free license that allows anyone to make adventures and other supplemental material for the tabletop roleplaying game R’lyehwatch without having to go through a review process, wait for approval, or share in any profits.
CONTENT
1. If you adhere to these terms you are allowed to publish free or commercial material based upon and/or declaring compatibility with R’lyehwatch without express permission from either Third Chair Games or Hedgemaze Press.
2. Art and text from our books may not be reused or translated, unless you have our explicit permission. You can use the names of people, creatures, and locations referenced in the game world in your product. Avoid sexist, racist, ableist, homophobic, and transphobic elements in your product.
3. The mechanics and game rules of R’lyehwatch may be reused and referenced freely (R’lyehwatch, pages 2–3 and 8–10).
BRANDING
4. Your product cannot use the Third Chair Games, Hedgemaze Press, or R’lyehwatch logos unless you have our explicit permission.
5. You are allowed and encouraged—but not required—to use the R’lyehwatch compatibility logo.
6. You are allowed and encouraged—but not required—to use our trade dress, including the use of our font (Basic Sans) and R’lyehwatch Red (C0 M90 Y100 K0).
7. You are not allowed to give the impression that your product is an official R’lyehwatch product or that we endorse or sponsor you in any way unless we’ve made special arrangements with you.
LEGAL
8. Third Chair Games and Hedgemaze Press take no responsibility for any legal claims against your product.
9. Any legal disputes, controversies, or claims related to this license shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America and be settled by a U.S. court in the state of Minnesota.
10. The following text must be legibly included in your product’s legal text, and on the website or storefront where you promote the product:
[Product name] is an independent production by [Author or Publisher] and is not affiliated with Third Chair Games or Hedgemaze Press. It is published under the R’lyehwatch Third Party License. R’lyehwatch is copyright Third Chair Games and Hedgemaze Press.
